Key Theatre

April 9th - 13th 2024

Showcasing award-winning theatre

to Peterborough since 1901

Fresh from the success of Sister Act at Peterborough Cathedral, PODS returns to the Key Theatre after their hilarious run of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee last Autumn.

A smash comedy hit on London and Broadway stages, this much-revived classic from the playwright Noel Coward offers wit, conflict and big laughs.

Blithe Spirit is set at the house of writer Charles Condomine and his wife Ruth. One evening Charles invites his friends to attend a seance at his house hosted by the local eccentric medium Madame Arcati, intending to gather character inspiration for his latest book. Despite initially thinking the seance has been a failure, it soon becomes clear that this was not the case when the spirit of Charles’ ex-wife comes to visit, for only Charles to see.

Follow Charles along as he deals with his uninvited guest and his struggle to deal with both his wives together. Intensely funny and character-driven, Blithe Spirit combines farce, emotion, and wit to great effect.
